Norman Elliott Kent, Esq.
Norman Elliott Kent, a graduate of Hofstra University, is an attorney based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, who specializes in criminal defense and appeals, media law and First Amendment issues. Mr. Kent has been actively involved in the defense of medical marijuana users, including the case of Elvy Mussika (one of eight legal marijuana users who obtain their medicine from the federal government) and the Key West Buyers' Club.
A recovering cancer patient, in 1999, Norm went from advocate to medical marijuana user himself, and attributes part of his recovery from chemotherapy treatment to judicious use of marijuana. He is also the Publisher of The Express, the largest weekly gay and lesbian newspaper in the State of Florida.
Mr. Kent served on the NORML board from 1992 to 1994, and rejoined the board in 1998.
